William Gaughran Obituary

Obituary of William V. Gaughran, Jr
William V. Gaughran, Jr., age 71, of Burlington, passed away at Melrose Healthcare on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA on October 19, 1953 he was a son of the late William V. and Mildred (Hughes) Gaughran. William grew up in Burlington, and graduated from Arlington Technical High School with the Class of 1971. He then went on to work as a machine operator until he was permanently disabled with a genetic neuromuscular disorder.
In his free time, William enjoyed all things music. He enjoyed listening to music of all kinds, and even had a recording studio in his home. He would rent out this space to friends so they could play together and record their songs. Although his muscular disorder kept him from many things, it didn't keep him from his beloved friends or his deep-rooted love for music. While most of William's friends predeceased him, the memories he made with them and with his dear family were truly special.
Surviving William is his beloved sister Elizabeth Mather and her husband Gary of Keeseville, NY; his niece and nephews, Maureen Harmon, Patrick Mather, and Brian Mather, as well as many other dear great nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 11AM-12noon at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington, his funeral home service will follow the visitation at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
