William George Obituary
William married his wife, Mary, on October 26, 1956, and together they raised a son and two daughters. He was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest and loved his family with everything he had.
He was a jack of all trades who loved to tinker with cars and lawnmowers. He also held a special place for bees and was a member and avid supporter of the Southwest Oklahoma Beekeepers Association.
William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; son, Roy Allen George; brothers, Armon George, Gerald George, and James George; two of his sisters, Viola Barber and Dorothy Sheppeard; and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by four sisters, Ruth Norton, Linda Bates, Laura Blore, and Carolyn Phillips; daughter, Robbin Smith and significant other Donald Powell; daughter Debbie Aragon and husband Phillip; grandchildren Joseph George, Darell George, Dino Sanchez, Joshua Sanchez, James Glenn Smith, and Abbye Lauren Mershawn; 11 great-grandchildren; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
William's care has been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Directors. The family will receive visitors at Carter-Smart Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5-7 pm. Services will be held at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Melvin Anderson presiding. Interment will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery.
