In Loving Memory of William (Bill) Gouslin, 1965 - 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Bill Gouslin, who peacefully left us on June 26, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 58 years old.
Bill will forever be cherished by his devoted family and a wide circle of friends and colleagues whose lives he touched deeply. Known for his commitment to community, adventurous spirit and love of physical fitness, Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will be carried in our hearts forever.
Born on Sept 18, 1965 in Brunswick, Maine to Kathryn and William Gouslin, Bill spent his childhood fishing, hunting frogs, playing baseball, building tree forts, and the usual childhood mischief. Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business from the University of Washington in 1987. He earned his MBA from San Diego State University in 2002. His career as a technology sales executive was the perfect outlet for his sociable nature, competitive drive, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Bill found joy in coaching youth sports, hiking, paddle boarding, fishing and watching his son's athletic endeavors. Bill was an accomplished cyclist known for climbing mountain passes and long weekend rides. He also loved to travel with several trips around Europe under his belt along with warmer destinations like Jamaica, Hawaii, Mexico and the Bahamas. His greatest joy was a recent trip to Italy this time bringing his sons with him.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in knowing that Bill is now at peace, free from pain. His memory will live on when his beloved Washington Huskies play and when we hear his favorite music from Pearl Jam or Dave Matthews.
Bill was preceded in death by his father William Gouslin and is survived by his loving wife Jennifer, sons Tyler and Cole, sisters Debra Matteotti and Barbara Tetherow, nieces Shanay, Caylee and Katie, nephew Tony and mother Kathryn Gouslin.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 10:30 on Wednesday, July 31 at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 11451 Blue Cypress Drive, San Diego, CA 92131. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, a cause close to Bill's heart.
