William "Matt" Hale

William "Matt" Hale, age 70, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Cosetta Smith Hale; one daughter, Holly Hale Lawson & husband David of London, KY; two grandchildren, Chloe Robinson & husband Ben, Emma Lawson; a great grandson that will be arriving soon, Beau David Robinson; four siblings, Felix Hale of Barbourville, KY, Kathy Smith of London, KY, Wanda Lewis of London, KY, Darrell Hale & wife Sherry of London, KY; his church family; plus a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Hazel Blanton Hale; his sister-in-law, Flonnie Hale; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Smith, S.M. Lewis.
Matt was known throughout the community for his dedication to his work and his generosity of spirit. He retired after many years of successfully owning and operating a car lot, where he not only sold cars but also formed lasting relationships with his customers. His integrity and honesty were evident in every transaction, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
A devoted member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Matt served as a deacon for many years. His faith was the guiding force in his life, and he found great joy in serving his church and community. His steadfast commitment to his beliefs was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Beyond his professional and religious commitments, Matt loved spending time outdoors, especially four-wheeling with friends and family. His enthusiasm for antique cars was infectious, and he could often be found attending car shows, sharing his knowledge and love for classic automobiles.
But above all else, Matt cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, finding immense joy in their company. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and milestones.
Matt Hale leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Though he may no longer walk among us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral arrangements for William "Matt" Hale will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Columbus Hensley, David Lawson and James Isom officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Blackwater, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be James Smith, Ben Robinson, Steve Lewis, William Lewis, Frankie Hackler and Felix Hale. Matt Blanton Sr. and Denzil Smith are serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
