William "Bill" Harrington, born in Englewood, NJ September 10, 1955 to Bill and Sandy Harrington, the second of seven children, passed away February 4, 2022. He attended St. Cecilia grammar school, Power Memorial HS and graduated from Cedar Ridge HS, Old Bridge, NJ in 1973. Following he then attended Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ and Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
Bill worked for the US Forest Service in Durango, CO as a forester and fire fighter and during winter months as a Racing Official at Purgatory Ski Resort in Durango. He then became a utility forester from Florida to British Columbia. He settled in the Rogue Valley, Oregon in 1993 working for Pacific Power until 2004 when he became the City Arborist for the City of Medford. Bill was passionate about trees and their care and planted hundreds of trees as a legacy for years to come. That legacy is coming to fruition today in parks and locations throughout Medford. In 2012 Bill returned to utility forestry work as the Manager for Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC for the state of Oregon. He was a licensed and certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture, certified in urban, municipal and utility arboriculture.
Bill's pride and joy are his children: daughter Whitney of Portland, OR; daughter Tayler Egan, husband Conner and grandson Linden of Tulatin, OR and son Clayton of Central Point, OR. Bill is survived by his six siblings: Sharon, Colleen, Ellen, Kathleen, Tommy and Michael and their families and his Godfather, Father Ashley Harrington, O.Carm. He is also survived by his wife Janice and her children and grandchildren.
His interests included traveling, walking, golfing and wine tasting. He was also an accomplished Cowboy Poet.
Billy was truly "larger than life" and hopes his legacy lives on in big and small ways for generations to come.

Billy, you were a light soul and a bright light in a dark and heavy world. I will always cherish the memories of working with you in Oregon. May the great memories of the that silly, wine drinking, cowboy poet that could name any random tree within close proximity always live on. I am proud to have had the privilege of living a life that you touched. You will be missed old friend.
