William "Billy" Heflin, age 58, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, son, and papaw, whose love for his family knew no bounds. With a heart full of kindness, generosity and a contagious sense of humor, he brought joy to those around him. For over 30 years, Billy worked as a welder, where his creativity shone through as he crafted remarkable creations. An outgoing spirit, he cherished his leisure time, enjoying the thrill of slot machines, the excitement of horse racing, watching hawks, and trying his luck with Kentucky Lottery scratch-offs. A passionate supporter of the Baltimore Ravens and the University of Louisville, Billy’s enthusiasm for life extended to his musical talents as well; he was the proud singer and guitarist of the band "Downfall."
Billy's greatest treasures were his grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled his days with happiness. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him and experience his warmth and affection.
Born on September 24, 1966, in Louisville, Kentucky, Billy was preceded in death by his beloved father, Donald Heflin; his brother, Ronnie Tudor; and his cherished grandmother, Flossie Evans.
He is remembered fondly by his loving wife of 41 years, Jammie Heflin; his daughter, Ashley Tudor; his son, Brandon Heflin; and his mother, Kathy Ward. Billy's legacy lives on through his grandsons, Tristen and Jayden Chandler, and his granddaughters, Aaliyah Chandler and Londyn Heflin. He is also survived by his sisters, Kelly Ward, Kristie Heflin, Jennifer Whiting, and Denise Walker; his brothers, Michael Walker and Jason Heflin; step-mother, Lois Heflin; his beloved fur baby, Rocky; and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
A visitation to honor Billy's life will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
