**Obituary for William Curtis Helms**
William Curtis Helms, born on December 30, 1949, in Rowan County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 13, 2025, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He was 75 years old.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, William is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Andreatta; his three sons, Jarrett Bradley Helms and wife Christi of Kernersville, Stephen Neal Helms of Greensboro, and Jonathan Edward Helms and wife Michelle of Newport News, Virginia; his daughter, Bethany Joanna Helms of Greensboro; and his step-daughter, Sara Andreatta Grimball and husband Barnwell of Charleston, South Carolina. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ray Helms and Dorothy Margaret Hamilton Helms, and his brother, Bob Helms.
William was the proud owner of William C. Helms General Contractor, contributing significantly to his community through his work. A man of diverse talents and interests, he held a degree in photography from Randolph Community College and another degree in massage therapy. His artistic spirit shone brightly in his love of painting landscapes. An avid outdoorsman, William found joy in kayaking, camping, and spending time in nature. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his children and grandchildren. In his earlier years, he served as an assistant scoutmaster, nurturing young minds with his guidance and wisdom.
A celebration of William's life will be planned in the near future, where family and friends will come together to honor his memory and the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.
