William D. Hipple, 83, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born on Tuesday, December 31, 1940 to the late Joseph and Helen Jane (Seibert) Hipple. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian P. (Miller) Hipple.
William was a proud Army Vietnam War Veteran. He retired from Hershey Foods as a mechanic. After retirement in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time at the beach. More than anything he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Robin Hipple and spouse Jennifer, Richard Martin and spouse Jill, Pam Cramer and spouse Shannon, and Sherry Sumpman; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and sister Marion Daubs. He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph E. Hipple, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11 AM at the Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 N. Union St., Middletown, PA 17057. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow in Shenk's Community Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

"A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today." Many people may not have known you or even cared, but to USN veterans, you are what America is all about. William, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom and democracy. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.
