William (Bill) Mitchell Hurt, of Jessamine County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 20, 1939, in Jessamine County, Bill spent his entire life in the place he proudly called home.
Bill was the beloved husband of Mary Hurt, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children: Judith Ann Hurt Perkins, William (Billy) Hurt Jr., and Brian Hurt.He was a devoted grandfather to Andrew Preston, Emilee Holsinger, Brennan Perkins, Blake Perkins, and Bryce Perkins, who were a constant source of joy and pride in his life.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and JW Hurt, and his brother, Robert (Bobby) Hurt. He is survived by his sisters, Emma Curry and Peggy Perrin.A proud veteran, Bill served honorably in the United States Army. He spent time working at Canada Dry Distillery and IBM, and later retired from the Jessamine County Transportation Department, where he served as a school bus monitor.A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bill was a standout athlete in his youth, playing both basketball and football for Nicholasville High School. He remained a passionate sports fan throughout his life, always cheering on his favorite teams and supporting local athletics.He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication — a life well lived and a man well l
