William "Coach" B. Layton, age 69, of New Brighton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Born on August 14, 1955, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frank and Florence Layton.
After graduating from Perry High School in '73, Coach married his high school sweetheart, Barb. He had a love for coaching, especially for the Freedom Varsity Swimming Team after his retirement as an Executive Chef. He was also a member of the Masons of Harmony, Masonic Temple Lodge #429. When not coaching, Coach enjoyed many hobbies like gardening, cooking, music, cars, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed swimming and scuba diving with Great White Sharks. Above all, Coach loved his wife and dogs. All of his dogs were his babies, including his two therapy dogs.
Coach leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara Layton; his niece, Patricia Drake (Jake Givens); his nephews, Justin and Matthew D'Antonio; his brother-in-law, Elmer "Butch" D'Antonio (The Late Sharyn D'Antonio); and his dogs, Bruno, Winston, and Cooper.
In addition to his parents, Coach was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Layton; and his sister, Susan Anne Layton.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.
