William John Macaulay, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 86 years old. Born on November 20, 1938, in Malden, Massachusetts, William lived a life marked by deep family love and a kind heart.
For 65 years, William was the loving husband of Elizabeth Macaulay. His legacy lives on through his children, John and his wife Karein, and Timothy and his wife Paula. He was a source of immense pride for his grandchildren: Cynthia and her husband Andrew Bosch, Christopher and his wife Samantha, William, Matthew and his wife Ashtyn, and Michael and his wife Kendall. His joy was further multiplied by his five great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Seeley, William, Jenna, and Elliot.
William will be remembered by all who knew him for his unwavering devotion to his family, his love for the outdoors, and his passion for traveling the world with Elizabeth. He was also a Past Master of the William Sutton Lodge in Saugus, Massachusetts. His gentle spirit and enduring kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
