William T. McDonnell

William T. McDonnell "Bill", of Dearborn Heights, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at his home unexpectedly on March 16, just one day after his 74th birthday.

Born on March 15, 1952, Bill was one of 13 children in a close-knit Irish Catholic family. A graduate of St. Mary's of Redford High School, he was known as a quiet, kind and generous man who always made time for his loved ones.

Music was a lifelong passion for Bill, from playing guitar to attending performances at the Grande Ballroom. In recent years, he especially enjoyed family gatherings at Mulligan's in Farmington Hills. A dedicated fan of the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings, Bill also find joy in shooting pool, golfing, tending to his home, and his long career in the oil industry. He was a man of steady kindness, often extending a helping hand to those in need.

Bill leaves behind a loving family of siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him always as a good man – gentle, generous and true.

Surviving Bill are siblings, Carol (Laurie) Dooge, Thomas (the late Fran) McDonnell, Richard McDonnell, Maureen Eden, and Patrick McDonnell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Marilyn (Ron) Goeyvaerts, Michael McDonnell, Edward (Laurie) McDonnell, Robert McDonnell, George McDonnell, John McDonnell, and Terrance McDonnell.

Family and friends may gather to honor Bill's life at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in downtown Farmington on Saturday, March 28th. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until a time of remembrances commencing at 1:00 pm.
