William McGinnis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
William "Bill" McGinnis, 70, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on August 1, 2025, in his hometown of Plymouth.
Born on May 11, 1955, in Plymouth. Bill was the beloved son of the late Amos and Saimi (Wainio) McGinnis. He graduated from Plymouth North High School with the class of 1973 and in his later years worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
Bill was a loving husband to Lorie and a devoted father to Shanon Stevens of Berkley and William McGinnis of Plymouth. He cherished his role as grandpa and found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren: Maddison Ozella of Plymouth, and Isabella and Sawyer Diaz of Berkley. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in being present for their lives.
He is survived by his sister Joyce Palavanchi and her husband John of Plymouth, as well as his brother-in-law Jack Rossetti of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles McGinnis: and sisters Sandra Rossetti and Brenda Woolson. Bill's family ties were strong, and he remained close to those he loved throughout his life.
A true enthusiast at heart, Bill had a passion for antique cars. He especially enjoyed restoring his 1961 Willy's Jeep Truck-a project that reflected both his patience and craftsmanship. Beyond his hobbies, Bill found happiness in traveling with Lorie, working in the yard and spending time with Rosie, the family dog who rarely left his side.
Bill will be remembered for the love he gave so freely to his family and for the quiet joy he found in life's simple pleasures. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday August 15th, at 11 am at Vine Hills Cemetery Samoset Street, Plymouth.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
