Obituary for William T. (Bill) Monk. Bill passed away at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas after a short
battle with cancer.
Bill was born on 7 July 1959 in Borger, Texas to K.V. (Pete) and Angela Monk. He grew up and went to school in Stinnett,
Texas. Bill graduated Stinnett High School in 1978. He then joined the United States Air Force in January 1981. After
multiple deployments and stations, he retired from the USAF in January 2001 and was living in Shertz, Texas at the time
of his death. He was also recently retired from Randolph AFB, San Antonio, Texas as a flight line technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Earl, Arthur, and Robert) and one sister (Mary Louise}.
He is survived by three sisters (Martha Manasco, Borger, Texas, Verna Herndon, Plano, Texas, and Rosetta Barrera,
Spearman, Texas) and three brothers (K.V. Monk Jr, Gardendale, Texas, Paul Monk, Weatherford, Texas, and Roy Monk,
Graham, Texas) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be May 26th at 11:15 am at shelter Two Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Warzbach Rd.,
San Antonio, TX
Burial will be in Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held following the
service at the VFW in Schertz, Texas of which Bill was a life-time member. The address of the VFW is: VFW Post 8315
1000 FM 78, Schertz, TX 78154.
The family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wreaths Across America, or you favorite Veterans
organization.
