Lavina Monk Obituary
Our loving mother Lavina died peacefully in her home on July 17, 2025. She was 103 years old.
She was born in Stevenson, Ca. On September 7, 1921, to Manuel Silveira Lucas and Anna Sequeira Lucas. Brothers Arthur, George and John Lucas, and sister Dorothy Lucas Jorge (all deceased)
Lavina dedicated her life to her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She is also much loved by countless nieces and nephews. she was an expert seamstress and avid gardener known for her beautiful roses. She was a faithful parishioner of our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since 1955.
Lavina was preceded in death by her husband Antonio J. Silveira in 1951. She was married to Gerald D Monk in 1955 until his death in 2008. She had three children, Robert (Paula), Silveira, Janet Silveira Constable, and Sandra Lynn (Greg) Allec. She had six grandchildren, Suzanne (Mark) Bonta, Jennifer Silveira, Jolean (Michael) Dulaney, Kattie (Paul) Alves, Jill (Aaron) Cole, and Tiffany (Jose) Paez, as well as 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She'll be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
