William Montgomery Jr., of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at SSM Hospital in Jefferson City. He was 84 years old

.

He was born May 27, 1941, in Anahuac, Texas, the son of William Montgomery Sr. and Dorothy (Jordan) Montgomery, who preceded him in death. William was united in marriage to Gloria (Coleman) Montgomery, who also preceded him in death.

William was a graduate of Lincoln University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Biology and Psychology. He dedicated many years of his professional life to Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, where he served as a Corporate Account Executive in Quality Control until his retirement.

He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and remained active in the Lincoln University Athletic Club. William enjoyed golfing and valued the time he spent staying active and engaged with his community.

He is survived by his two sons, William (Angelina) Montgomery III and Jason Montgomery; and eight grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Jason (Blythe) Montgomery Jr., Kaila Montgomery, Taylor Montgomery, William Montgomery IV, Elliott (Rachel) Montgomery, Gabriel (Joana) Montgomery, and Olivia Montgomery; 5 great-grandchildren Zayland, Neveah, Elijah, Gabriel, Mila; 4 sister-in-laws, Virgilee (Lloyd) Conley, Judy Hargrove, Mary Lynn Johnson, Jackie Coleman.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by, 3 brother-in- laws, Anthony Johnson, James Hargrove and Ronald Coleman.

There will be no services held. William will be laid to rest at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown, Texas.
