William "Bill" Morelock, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, coach, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 1, 2025, in
Denver, Colorado. Born on July 13, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas, Bill's warmth and vivacious spirit touched the lives of those around him throughout his 79 years.
Bill was a graduate of Bear Creek High School, where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football, earning him recognition and accolades. His athletic prowess led him to Rangely Junior College, where he continued to shine on the court and field. But beyond his athletic achievements, Bill's true legacy was the impact he had on the lives of countless young people. He spent 25 years at Adams City High School, as a security officer, mentor and coach, guiding students with a firm yet compassionate hand. Bill had a unique ability to connect with every student, earning respect and admiration, especially from those who needed guidance the most. He was proud of his ability to reach out to and positively influence even the most challenging students.
Bill's dedication to youth extended beyond his professional life. He was a devoted father who coached his sons Bryan, Casey, Sean, Shad, and Shane, imparting not just the skills of sports but the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. His love for sports was matched only by his passion for hot rods, a hobby that saw him restoring and perfecting these classic cars with the same patience and attention to detail he brought to all his endeavors.
Bill's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Debra Morelock, his sons, and his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss his guidance, his laughter, and his unconditional love. His influence will live on in the many lives he touched.
As a man who embodied love, thoughtfulness, and handiness, Bill was the rock of his family and a pillar in his community. His life was a testament to the power of positive influence and the enduring impact of genuine connections. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Bill Morelock's life was indeed a resounding success.
We say farewell to a man who has left an indelible mark on this world. Bill Morelock's story does not end with his passing but continues in the lives of those he inspired and loved. He will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will forever be a beacon of hope and strength for his family and all who knew him.
