William Patrick Mullaly, Jr., 90, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Knoxville, TN. William was born March 7, 1934, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to his parents who preceded him in death. William was a High School graduate and served in the Marine Corp from 4-30-1954 to 4-29-1957. While serving, he earned the Rank of Corporal and received many awards, such as the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and an honorable discharge. He also played the saxophone as a bandsman in the Marine Corps. After serving in the Marines, he was a business owner in the Janitorial Service industry. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Sue Eslinger Mullay; daughter, Dr. Mari Pat Gettelfinger; son, Michael Patrick Mullaly. Also preceding him in death are his brothers, Paul Mullaly, Jim Mullaly, and Bernie Mullaly. William is survived by his brother, Chuck Mullaly, sister Betty (Alan) Clarke, and sister Lynn (Ji m) Polli. He is also survived by his daughter, Susan Mullaly and her Partner; grandchildren, Katherine Mullaly and her partner Dave Shirley, Erin (Augustus) Pastore, Kelli (Rob) Wallace, Andrew (Autumn) Gettelfinger, Patrick (Lyndsey) Gettelfinger; great grandchildren, Savannah, Breslin, Rocco, Jude, Aiden, Edie, Adeline, Eloise, Mackenzie, Miley, and new baby girl on the way. And many beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Amedysis Hospice; Adina, RN; Markeesa (aide); and special longtime friend and cherished family member, Donna Mullaly. A funeral mass will be held 11am on Wednesday, May 29, at St John Neumann Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel where full military honors will be conferred by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard and the US Marine Corp.Read Obituary
