William Walter Murrell "Bill" passed away peacefully, remembered by those who loved him for his kindness, gentle ways, and big heart.
Born on July 23, 1951, Bill graduated from West High School and spent many years working at Revco Drugs, where he was known for his dependability and warm nature. Beyond work, he found joy in the beauty of Celtic Woman's music, the imagination of Star Trek and had a special bond with animals-who always seemed to trust him without hesitation.
Bill saw the world in his own unique way. He approached life with a simple honesty, unaffected by pretense or pressure. His routines, his interests, and his quiet presence were steady and comforting to those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Arlie and Barbara Murrell; cherished grandparents, Walter & Dora (Bardill) Thornton and William Austin & Annie (Connatser) Murrell.
He is survived by his brother, Larry Murrell of Knoxville, TN; sister, Beverly Murrell Messamore of Bella Vista, AR; and niece, Jennifer Messamore of Springdale, AR.
Bill gave his family a love that was unselfish and unconditional. He didn't ask for much but gave everything he had to those he cared about. He will be deeply missed for his honesty, sweet spirit, and the quiet love he gave so freely.
The family will receive friends on April 17, 2025, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Rose Funeral and Cremation – Mann (6200 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919). A service will follow at 2:00pm. Family and friends will gather the same day for a 3:00pm internment at Highland Memorial Cemetery (5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN 37919).
