William Morgan Negley

William Morgan Negley, age 87 of Sandwich, IL passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at AccentCare Hospice Center in Naperville, IL. He was born on June 9, 1938 in Peoria, IL the son of Marion and Beatrice (Morgan) Negley.

Mr. Negley was united in marriage on July 25, 1964 to Eileen Grace Steffen and they spent the next 61 years happily together. William was a proud veteran of the United States Army in the Special Forces Division at Fort Bragg. He was employed by International Harvester in the Training and Development department until his retirement. After moving to Sandwich, IL, Mr. Negley supported his community by becoming the Executive Director of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and working for Waubansee Community College. Mr. Negley was a longtime member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

William is survived by his wife, Eileen Negley of Yorkville, IL; his children, Janet Alice Negley of Sterling, IL, James Steffen Negley of North Aurora, IL, and Keith William (Mary Beth) Negley of Montgomery, IL; and his granddaughter, Hailey Michelle Negley of Overland Park, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Beatrice Negley.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Nelson Funeral Homes, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Nelson Funeral Homes in Yorkville, IL.
