William P. Nelson, age 73, of Erie, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at his home.
He was born on June 16, 1950 in Erie, PA, a son of the late Leonard and Mary (Christie) Nelson.
William was a process technician with Erie Molded Company for over 30 years. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post #773, where he loved to play the fish bowl game. He had a passion for playing golf and was a true blue Cleveland Sports fan, especially baseball, you could always find him watching a game. He loved gardening, especially vegetables.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen D. Nelson; two daughters, Barbara Trigillo and Kimberly Nelson; three brothers, Leonard, Terry, and James Nelson.
William leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters, Robin Mysnyk and her companion Jeff Allen, and Sherry King and her husband Steven; a brother, Robert T. Nelson; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Trévaugn, Chrissy, Megan, Jack, Andrew, Aleasha, and Nicole; eight great-grandchildren; as well as his beloved cat, Lucky.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St, Erie.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Post #773, 4109 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
