William "Bill" Roy Parsons of Salem, Missouri entered into his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 64. Bill was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 22, 1959 to the late Ernest and Isabelle (Owens) Parsons.
Bill was spent most of his working career in law enforcement. He worked for the Viburnum Police Dept. as a dispatcher for many years; he worked security for Missouri S&T, and just a few years ago started his own Security Patrol in Salem, working privately for area business's; He along with Bill Rowden opened the 4th Street Mall. Bill enjoyed working, he had a family to support, and did everything he could to make sure the kids were taken care of. You might also remember him on KKID radio station, going under the radio wave name as "Wild Bill". He attended church in Salem at the Living Water Flows. He was a hardworking, loyal, friend, and devoted father, and grandfather.
William Roy Parsons is survived by his children, Dawn Mansfield, of Salem, MO, Jay Lester, of Salem, MO, Joseph Lester, and wife Katina, of Salem, MO, Amy Parsons, of Salem, MO, Alisha Trawick and husband James, of Salem, MO, and Clarissa Weeks, of Salem, MO; grandchildren, Trae Parsons, Jace Parsons. Kaydence Trawick, Madeline Smith, and Kennidee Trawick; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ernest and Isabelle Parsons, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Parsons, and his children's mother, Peggy Lester.
A service to celebrate the life of William Parsons will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service from 10:00AM until service time. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with burial expenses, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
