William L. Rather, age 61, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on December 5, 1962, in Fond du Lac, the son of Howard A. and Dorothy A. (Diedrich) Rather. Bill was a graduate of LP Goodrich High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bill had several careers including in Engineering and Tax Preparation. Bill’s reason for never marrying was: Would it have been fair for one woman to have Bill all to herself?
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brothers, Howard H. (Penny) Rather of Tennessee, Jerome (Marsha) Rather of Madison, and sisters, Betty of Sheboygan Falls, WI, and Jan of Sheboygan, WI.
Mom always liked Bill best!
Private family burial has taken place at St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope in Bill’s name.
