William A Reichert, 92, a longtime resident of Bolton, CT passed away on May 19, 2024 after a period of declining health.
Bill leaves behind four children, William and his wife Debra, Gene and his wife Francesca, Lisa and her husband Gerry and Kimberlyann and her husband Brian. He also had nine grandchildren, William, Jessie, Carrie, Phillip, Alexandra, Brian, Tyler, Joshua, Mykenzie and 13 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Jacob, Ethan, Lydia, Gary III, Holden, Annabelle, Zachary, Michael, Owen, Kyle, Lily and Anna.
Bill grew up in Manchester CT where he attended school and graduated from Howell Cheney Technical School as an electrician. Bill joined the US Army National Guard when his unit was activated during the Korean War but was assigned to CO D, 169 Infantry Regiment, 43 Infantry Division in Germany. He was Honorably discharged in May of 1952.
He started working at Hartford Electrical Company (HELCO) and transitioned to Northeast Utilities where he retired from in 1988. He worked as an electrician and construction manager for them.
Bill had many interests in his lifetime. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and ice fishing. He enjoyed traveling and dancing, especially square dancing. Bill was a member of the Manchester Masonic Lodge of which he was a Past Master before their recent merger with the Hartford-Evergreen #88 Masonic Lodge.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Georgena (Buchanan) Reichert and wives, Ellen and Nancy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude's in William's name.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
