William E. “Bill” Roberts of Holley, NY, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, surrounded by love, laughter, and family. Known affectionately as Billy by his daughters and Papa by his grandchildren, he filled every role in life with humor, loyalty, and heart.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 41 years, Amanda Roberts; and their four daughters: Jacqueline Gerringer (Ray), Jennifer Gagliardi (Michael), Valerie Roberts (Patrick), Stephany Corcoran (Erin). The greatest joys of his life—his grandchildren: Hailee, Hannah, Hayden, Natalie, Vincent, Autumn, Ryan, Chloe, Sarah; and his great-grandchildren: Skyler and Myles. He is also survived by his father, Dennis Roberts (Marylou); two sisters, Julie and Wendy; and many nieces and nephews. He was welcomed into heaven by those who passed before him—his mother, Elizabeth Habeck, and sisters, Donna and Kelly.
Bill had countless friends who shared his love for fishing, the outdoors, and good company. Fiercely devoted to his family and unapologetically himself, Bill was known for his playful sarcasm, and heart as big as the open sky. He found joy in simple pleasures—casting a line, camping under the stars, building with his hands, and soaking up the sun. If you ever saw him cruising through town on his scooter, you probably caught that mischievous grin and the teddy bear spirit beneath.
Though his chair may now be empty and his scooter parked, the laughter, love, and warmth he brought into this world will ride on forever.
There will be no traditional services for Bill, but a private celebration of life will be held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Boulevard, Webster, NY 14580, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
