William H. Robinson Jr., 78, of Copley passed away on January 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a 19-year struggle with Parkinsons. Bill was born in Oak Park, Illinois on November 8, 1946, to the late Bill and Eleanor Robinson.
He graduated from North Central College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and received his doctorate degree from the University of Illinois in Organic Chemistry. His first job after school was with Dupont Chemical in Wilmington, DE, then went on to work for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 25 years, retiring as Director of Information and Technology. His encore career was with Stark State College where he was a Professor of Organic Chemistry. After retirement his most important career choice was being “Pa” to his 3 grandchildren, where he will always be remembered as among the loudest and most supportive spectator at any sporting event. Bill was very proud of achieving his Eagle Scout and consciously living his life to the Scout Oath. Bill was also an active member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Vivian “Vee” Robinson (nee Pendergraff); adoring daughters Stephanie (Jeff) Luecke and Ashley Robinson; his grandchildren Michael, Maddy and Makayla Luecke; brother Chuck (Vicki) Robinson and their children Brad (Lexi) Robinson and Dana (Reo) Ross.
Bill’s life was a testament to service, kindness, and a commitment to bettering the world around him, one thoughtful act at a time. To honor Bill’s legacy of helping others, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, you consider performing an act of kindness in his memory. A good deed, no matter how small, would be a fitting tribute to a life lived with purpose and compassion and honor Bills legacy of “Do a Good Turn Daily”!
