William Matthew "Matt" Ross, 71, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 26, 2025. Born on December 22, 1953, in Las Cruces, NM, he was the beloved son of the late Rex R. and Lady Eugenia (Seay) Ross. Matt was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother; he is survived by his wife, Allison Miller-Ross; his son, Wm. Marshall; his daughter, Rachael Ross (Joseph), three grandchildren, Mason, Parker, and Chloe Klein; his sisters, Donna, Elaine, and Diane; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In his retirement, he was a cherished resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico, as a successful property owner and trader. Matt loved riding his bicycle with his wife, playing computer games with his son, watching Nascar and other sports with his daughter and son-in-law, and never missed streaming his grandchildren's athletic and fine art events. He was very proud of his family's heritage and enjoyed tracking family genealogy as a hobby for many years, as well as maintaining one of the commercial properties his parents built.
While Matt will be missed dearly by many, a celebration of life will be a small, private gathering by immediate family.
