William Lee Scott passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 78 in Gig Harbor, WA.
Bill was born on September 14, 1943 in Glendale, CA to Mildred McClain and Walter Lee Scott. Bill and his wife Linda met at San Lorenzo HS and their first date was 9/9/60; they were married for 57 years. He was a graduate of the University of Washington, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and a lifelong Husky supporter. After graduation, Bill served in the US Air Force as a Titan Missile Crew Commander in Wichita, KS while earning his Masters degree in Accounting at Wichita State University.
Returning to Seattle, his professional career began with consulting for Ernst & Ernst and he later became Partner in charge of consulting for Ernst & Young. He then went on to leadership positions for Physio Control, SeaMed, Heart Technology/Boston Scientific, and other startup companies.
In retirement, Bill embraced giving back to the community through involvement in: Seattle Chapter American Heart Association, Redmond Chamber of Commerce, Bellevue Breakfast Rotary, Bellevue Community College Foundation, The American Electronics Association, Financial Executives Institute, UW Past Executive Committee, Emerald Heights Retirement Center, ArenaNet, Wizards of the Coast, Walter J Teague Inc., and Canterwood Golf & Country Club.
His passion for travel and golf took him around the world to many exceptional places, golf courses and his favorite golf community at Canterwood.
While he accomplished much in his career, nothing was more important to him than family. His devotion to Linda and their three children, Ryan, Kaley, Lindsay and goddaughter Stephanie extended to their wonderful spouses Laura, Fred and Jeremy. The addition of his four GRANDchildren Tyler, Jana, Justin and Kara completed his world. He rarely missed a dance, choir performance, play, soccer, basketball, or baseball game.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 22nd, 2pm at Canterwood Golf & Country Club.

We remember fondly our time at McConnell AFB together, first as young second lieutenants and later as captains. Bill was one of the "stars". You and your family are in our prayers.

Bill was a force to be reckoned with. I worked with him for many years at Heart Technology, Inc. While we may not have seen eye to eye, I never doubted his unwavering support. Rest in peace, Bill. I will miss you.

Linda, I am so sorry that Bill passed away so young. A fellow CPA, Bill was always encouraging in my career. Such a multi-talented man! One memory that still amazes me is your telling me how you and Bill loved to paint and wallpaper together, to me a sign of your strong marriage. Linda S and I hope to see you on April 22nd.

Linda, I am so very sorry about your loss. We had a great circle of friends, and I am proud to have been included. I fondly remember riding in Bill's 1957 Chevy convertible, and we usually ended up at Pring's. He was a fine person.
