William Waymar Sexton Jr.

William Waymar Sexton, "Jr.", passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 87 years old. He was born in Monticello, KY on July 12, 1938.

Son of the late William Waymar Sexton and Tilda (Sweet) Sexton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ann (Hancock) Sexton and their infant daughter, Kathy Ann Sexton.

He is survived by his children, Allen Sexton and Vicki Sexton Burnett; grandchildren, Terra Nutt (Mitchell) and Caitlyn Mounce. He had 3 great grandchildren, Chloe and Carson Albertson, and Tyler Nutt. He is also survived by his brother, Clarence "Ray" Sexton; niece and nephew, Janet Sexton Doss and William "Bub" Sexton; and niece Lisa Hancock Morrow.

He worked in a variety of construction areas but is mostly known for his thrift store in Number One Community. He was full of knowledge and experience, could fix anything and was only a phone call away for advice. He had the "gift of gab" and never met a stranger. He was full of stories and could always put a smile on your face. He loved fishing, gardening and watching old westerns, but most of all he loved being with family. He will be sadly missed by many, and many friends who were like family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
