William Shealor Obituary
William Bryan "Tim" Shealor, Jr.
Shealor, William Bryan, Jr. ("Tim"), 94, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026. Tim was preceded in death by his dear beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret Ann; his father, William Bryan Shealor, and mother, Lizzie Estelle Shealor; his sister, Norma Shealor Martin; and countless cousins and friends. Tim is survived by his daughters, Susan Karch (Alan) of Westwood, NJ, Donna Bailes (Tom), and Lizabeth Gallagher (Kevin), both of Mechanicsville. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Lauren (Trace), Bryan, Kerry, Brittany (Joey), Brendan (Nicole), Meghan (Michael), Emily, Tim, and Kara; five great grandchildren, Milo, Ben, McKaylee, Lily, and Anna Louise; one nephew and six nieces.
Tim was born and raised in Church Hill, enjoying deep connection and friendship in his childhood; most notably, Tim was a proud member of the "Church Hill Gang", a group of friends, including Warner Scott, James Whitman, and Henry Boshin, exploring their neighborhood and making memories that would truly last a lifetime. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1950, where he met his wife, and began his career shortly after. Throughout his career, Tim was a disciplined banker, earning the title of Vice President of Virginia First Savings and Loan Association and later retired as a mortgage loan officer at Virginia First Mortgage.
Tim was driven by his Christian faith and his love of Christ; he was a proud Life Member and Bible Study teacher at Leigh Street Baptist Church. Living his faith by example, Tim was a kind gentleman and protected his loved ones deeply, cherishing his family above all else. In his free time, Tim was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousins. He loved to play baseball and golf in his youth. Later in life, Tim found much enjoyment in playing cards with his grandchildren. He was passionate about American history and his family's origins, particularly his family's roots to Louisa, VA. Tim was a natural born story teller; he was often found sharing stories with movie like detail or snapping photographs of special moments throughout his rich and purpose driven life that will be treasured for generations.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bon Secours Hospice by Compassus for their dedicated support and compassionate service for Tim throughout his journey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bliley's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue.
