William J. Stauber, 66, Marshfield, Wisconsin, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service with Reverend Dan Thelen officiating, assisted by Deacon Kevin Breit. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 9:00 am and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree will form a guard of honor. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bill was born on March 24, 1958 in Marshfield to Roman and Virginia (Kraus) Stauber Sr. He attended St. John's Elementary School and graduated from Marshfield High School.
Bill worked 40+ years at Weyerhauser where he became a well-respected and highly skilled wood stain technician. He was an artisan in his craft and mentored new employees in his field.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Father John Eisen Council, Whitetails Unlimited, and United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC&J).
Bill was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast with a special love for Harley Davidsons, proudly building a prized 1965 Harley Davidson Sportster. As a kid, he enjoyed motocross and carried that adventurous spirit throughout his life. Known for his sharp sense of humor and captivating storytelling, Bill embraced life with boundless enthusiasm. He found joy in hunting, downhill skiing, ice fishing, musky fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was an ardent reader of Vietnam War History so to better appreciate those who served and sacrificed so much. He had a passion for music, and cherished going to concerts with friends and family. He also enjoyed taking Amtrak rides out west to ski and soak in the beauty. Uncle Bill was dearly admired by his nieces and nephews. He faithfully took care of his mother after the death of his father. His energy, humor, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by siblings, Charles (Sandy) Stauber, Donald (Diane) Stauber, Paul Stauber, Bruce Stauber, and Susan (Deacon Kevin) Breit, Russell (Patricia) Stauber, Roman Stauber Jr., Cathryn (Jeffrey) Bauer. He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Virginia, infant brother Matthew Donald, and sisters in law Margaret Stauber and Darcie Stauber.
