William Ray Thomas, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Born in Converse, SC, he was the son of the late Broughton Elvin and Sara Erskine Thomas and the husband of Maxine Smith Thomas. He was retired from Electric City Printing in Williamston and was a veteran of the US Army. Ray was a lifelong member of Duncan Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and an elder.
Survivors also include five daughters, Fonya Colvin and husband, Kerry, Jenni LaCoste and husband, Palmer, Wilma Painter, Jennifer Durham and husband, Scott and Susan Finley and husband, Russell; two brothers Gerald Thomas (Carol) and Neil Thomas (Suzy); thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Thomas, and two brothers Frank Thomas and Elvin Thomas.
Memorial services will be held at 12PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Duncan Church of Christ with Minister Daniel Koen officiating. The family will receive friends from 11AM until 12PM prior to the service. The family will hold a private burial.
