William “Bill” Cleo Thurman, 87, of Napoleon, Missouri passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at Lafayette Regional Health Center, in Lexington Missouri.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Lexington United Methodist Church, 1211 S. Business Hwy 13, Lexington, Missouri 64067. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Napoleon Cemetery. Memories of Bill and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Bill was born on May 19, 1938, in Hilda, Missouri to William Bryan and Betha (Roberts) Thurman. He graduated from Rich Hill High School. Bill was united in marriage on May 19, 2024, to Sherry (Liles) Thurman in Richmond, Missouri. Bill honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. After leaving the service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career as a boilermaker with Lake City Ammunition, where he dedicated many years before retiring. An avid lover of the great outdoors, Bill found joy and solace in nature. He relished moments spent hunting, fishing, archery and tending to his beloved garden.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Thurman of the home; one daughter, Laura Rapino of Chicago, IL; one step daughter, Chloe Young; one sister, Irene Thurman; one brother, Kenny Thurman; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded by both his parents, two sisters, Nadine Thurman and Betty Thurman; and two brothers, A.J. Thurman and Glen Thurman.
