Obituary of William Scott Truex Sr.
William Scott Truex, Sr., 66, of Freehold Township passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 31, 2025. Scott was born in Long Branch and raised in Holmdel. He moved to Freehold Township in the late 1970's.
For over 45 years, Scott was a proud and dedicated member of the I.B.E.W., Local 400 in Wall. He served as a troubleshooter lineman for Jersey Central Power & Light, a career he held with distinction until his retirement in 2023.
His craftsmanship extended beyond his career. Scott was deeply connected to his home, a place he built with his own hands as a young man in his twenties. He poured countless hours into tinkering and crafting, truly embodying the sentiment, "Home is where the heart is." A skilled craftsman and a jack of all trades, Scott possessed a remarkable ability to fix and build anything.
Beyond his home, Scott had a strong passion for automobiles, finding joy in their repair and restoration. An outdoorsman at heart, he cherished camping and fishing, especially at his home in upstate New York.
Above all, Scott was a devoted husband and a loving father, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
Scott was predeceased by his parents, William Walter and Barbara Ann Truex. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Maelin Truex; a son, William Scott Truex, Jr.; a sister, Suzanne Wakefield; and two nephews, Brett and Jared.
