William Vance Obituary
Bill was a veteran, a member of First Baptist Church of Heber Springs, and a long time professor of mathematics at Southern Arkansas University. He held degrees from the University of Texas, the University of Arkansas and the University of North Texas.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary and they had relocated to her hometown after retirement. Bill was also predeceased by his sister Joan Vance Berry.
Although they had no children, he is survived by his brother-in-law Lyndell Lay and many nieces, nephews and their families. His former students will remember Professor Vance as a dedicated and caring educator.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on January 10th, 2026 in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southern Arkansas University (Dr. William Vance Scholarship Endowment), First Baptist Church of Heber, or to the charity of your choice.
