William Vannostrand Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 13, 2024.
William "Bill" Brian Vannostrand, a cherished resident of Warren for the past six years and a longtime fixture of Sterling Heights, passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 70 after an illness. Born on January 3, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, to Carl and Dorothy (nee Williams) Vannostrand, Bill grew up with a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
After attending Clawson High School, Bill dedicated 30 years to his self-employed venture, Van's Mobile Home Repair in Sterling Heights, before retiring in 2004. His passion for classic cars was well known, particularly his beloved 1957 Chevy, and he enjoyed attending car shows. In his leisure, he found solace in fishing and camping, embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm.
Bill's life was enriched by his marriage to Marilyn, whom he wed on August 5, 1995, in Sterling Heights, as well as Bill's two children. Bill is survived by his son, William Vannostrand, Jr.; his daughter, Crystal Mistretta; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Jacob; and his sister, Sharon (Gary) Rolka and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his adored pets, Lily "Lala" and Patches.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Vannostrand; and his siblings, Carl (Jeanette), Evie, Shirley, Gail, Donny, and Denny.
A celebration of his life will be planned by the family at a later date. His memory will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
