Obituary of William H. Watras
William H. Watras, 73, of Berlin, beloved husband of Linda Fetera-Watras, died Monday, August 12, 2024 at Saint Francis Hospital. Bill was born on October 4, 1950, in Wethersfield, to the late Edward and Helen (Kellogg) Watras. He graduated from CCSU and worked for The Hartford for over 30 years. Bill was a member of the Elks, an avid golfer, member of the USGA, and played in the Hartford League for 29 years. Even though he loved the Yankees, he was a very proud NFL share holder of the Green Bay Packers. He frequently visited Hawaii, which was his favorite destination. Above all else Bill was a family man, and his grandchildren were everything to him, but he put everyone before himself! Christmastime was a big deal and everyone was welcomed. He was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed working on various household projects. Besides his wife, Linda, Bill is survived by his daughters Lyndsay Watras, Vanessa Martin and her husband Billy, his stepdaughter Alyssa Mencio and her husband Ryan, as well as stepson Stephen Fetera. He was an extremely proud grandfather to: Jayden, Ethan, Justin, Ryan, Jaxon, Grayson, Savanna, Mackenzie, and Chase. He is also survived by brothers Edward Watras II and his wife Laura, Emerson Watras, Thomas Watras and his wife Kathy, as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 19 from 4pm to 7pm with a memorial service at 7pm in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
