William Harvey "Billy" Wearmouth, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in
Hendersonville, NC, on October 28, 2025, he was 88 years old. Born on October 20, 1937, in Coral Gables, FL, Billy lived a life marked by dedication to family, faith, and community.
Billy's professional journey was spent with the Union Camp Paper Corporation in Franklin, VA, where he was known for his hard work and commitment to excellence. His career was complemented by a rich tapestry of personal interests, including his passion for the Model T Car Club, his enthusiasm for Tarheel sports, and his involvement with Trout Unlimited.
A man of faith, Billy was a devoted member of St. James Episcopal Church, where he found spiritual nourishment and fellowship. His educational path was distinguished by his studies at the University of North Carolina, Guilford College, and Old Dominion University, reflecting his lifelong pursuit of knowledge and growth.
Billy was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Amy Wolfe, and his parents, William Norman Wearmouth and Harriett Letitia Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Manheim Wearmouth, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. He also leaves behind his sons, Christopher Lee Wearmouth of Tazewell, VA, and William H. "Buddy" Wearmouth II of
Hendersonville, NC. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Noah (Hannah) Wearmouth, Kathlyn (Tony) Smith, Rebecca (Kevin) Mullis, Caleb Wearmouth, Jacob Wearmouth, Leah Wearmouth, Carolina Wolfe Briggs (Garrett Briggs), Sam Wolfe, Nate Wolfe, and Abigail Wolfe, as well as his great-grandchildren, Eli Wearmouth, Hailey Wearmouth, Ryder Smith, Jessie Smith, Cooper Mullis, and Harper Mullis.
Billy's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, November 7th at 11:00am.
