William Ray Wessman

William Ray Wessman, age 80, of Meriden passed away on December 27, 2024. He was the loving husband of Theresa H. Wessman. Bill was born in Meriden, CT, son of the late Irving and Charlotte Goff Wessman. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving son James Wessman, his cherished siblings, Bob Wessman and his wife Pam of Bristol, Charleen Poglitsch and her husband Edward of Wallingford, his adoring nieces and nephews, Amy Wessman Pelletier and her husband Todd of Southington, Carrie Wessman Huber and her husband Kevin of Wolcott, Laurie Jambor and her husband Andrew of Wallingford, Scott Poglitsch of Berlin, and Brian Poglitsch and his wife Ashley of Wallingford, and his great nieces and nephews Gavin, McKenna, Abigail, Ben, Camryn, Natalie, Hailey, and Carter. Bill is also survived by Theresa's sisters and brothers, Anne Olson and husband Gar, Dr. Joseph Hanley and wife Patricia, Peter Hanley and wife Toni, Gerrie Hammar, Katherine Brewster and husband Martin, Mary E. Hanley, and Sarah Triano.
Bill was a proud US Air Force Veteran. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford. He enjoyed his 38-year career working for and retiring from Northeast Utilities.
Bill's family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Tuesday, January 14th from 1-2pm. A Funeral Service will commence at the funeral home at 2pm. Interment will be private.
