William W. Whitford Jr.

William W. Whitford, Jr., of Warren, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at the age of 96, at Autumn Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
Born in Staten Island, New York, to the late Katharine (née Lambert Pettigrew) and William Whitford, Sr., William spent most of his life on Staten Island before moving to Warren, New Jersey, in the early 1980s.
A proud veteran, William honorably served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1954. His service reflected a lifelong dedication to duty, discipline, and integrity-values that guided him throughout his life.
William had been employed as a sales executive for Kodak in Rochester, NY from 1952 until he retired as Manager of Region Equipment Service Center in New Jersey in 1983.
Bill was a talented craftsman who built model planes, boats, and steam engines. He was a member of New Jersey Live Steamer in Somerset Hills NJ, and East Coast Meter Ec 12 in NJ. He enjoyed spending time building and sailing radio controlled Soling M1 and EC12 model yachts.
William was survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy (née Soriano), as well as his loving nieces and nephews, who will remember him with great affection.
Private burial services will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey at a later date.
