William "Martin" Willis, age 93, of Adamsville, Alabama passed away on August 17, 2024.
Martin was born on September 20, 1930 to Carlos and Sallie Willis of Missouri. Martin Graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1951 and went on to join Ironworkers Local 92.
In 1951, Martin met Frances at the local strip pt. Martin and Frances married in May of 1953 and went on to have three children, Sharon Turner, Cathy Carroll and Guy Willis.
Martin retired in 1992 and spent his time fishing, reading, caring for animals, gardening and spending time with family. He was a long time member of Milton H Fies Lodge #722 of the Masons. Throughout his life, he attended church at Birmingport Baptist Church, Shady Grove Baptist Church and Maytown Baptist Church where he served as Deacon in all three.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Sallie Willis; brothers, Andrew and Russell Willis and daughter Sharon Turner. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Frances Willis; children Cathy (Mike) Carroll and Guy Willis; grandchildren, Haleigh (Sammy) Medders, Christy (Devin) Harrison, Joshua (Meghan) Turner and Steven (Amanda) Carroll; great-grandchildren, Brodie and Chase Medders, Henson and Holden Harrison and Grayson and Haven Carroll.
The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 12:00 pm from Crestview Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Internment will be held at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Alliance, Alabama.
