Willie Lawson Obituary
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by grandparents: Drucie and Willie Cash, Jr. and Leonia and John Otha Lawson; and one aunt, Shelia Davis.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, four children: Kadance Lawson of Timberlake, North Carolina, Tiana Pettiford of Pelham, North Carolina, Sophia Gallizzi of Durham, North Carolina and Zola Tegram of Roxboro, North Carolina; his mother, Linda Jones (Willie Jones) of the home; one sister, Takena Lawson of Durham; five aunts: Willie Bee Lawson of Henderson, North Carolina, Louise Chavis (Marshall) of Oxford, North Carolina, Ann Lawson of Semora, North Carolina, Barbara Norwood (Otis) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Montgomery (Thomas) of Virginia; three uncles: Jack Lawson (Lenoria), also of Timberlake,John Otha Lawson, Jr. (Lavern) of Durham and James Lawson of Granville County; a niece, Jayla Foxx and a nephew, Sam Foxx, Jr.; his best fishing buddy, Adrian "Rooster" Downey; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Friday, November 29, 2024 at 1:00pm at Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home with Evangelist Kendra King, Associate Minister at Faith Temple United Holy Church, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 907 Durham Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27573. Visitation will also be Friday at the funeral home from 12:00pm to 1:00pm when his body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
