Willie Dee Averett Woods, born on January 12, 1923 in Greensboro, Alabama passed away on May 9, 2023. Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Rick Crawford and Rev. Arthur Thomas. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the chapel.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Lafayette Woods, sons; Sherman and Dewey Woods, parents; John and Annie Stewart Averett, brothers; Purfedy, Murphy, Gurthy, Luther, and Lester Averett, sisters; Murty Lyles, and Murvle Montz.
Survivors include her daughter; Juel D. Woods, sons; Cornel (Debbie), Thomas (Shonna), Johnnie (Vickie), nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was known for her love of hats , her birds and flowers and she loved sharing them with others. A faithful servant of the Lord that loved her children, family and church family. We welcome anyone who would like to take part in her celebration of her life.
Although she will be missed by many, we take comfort in knowing she is in God's Kingdom enjoying the garden of Paradise.
In lieu of flowers feel free to make donations to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church or to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama in her memory.
