Wilma Jean Allman, a beacon of kindness and selflessness, was called to her heavenly home on September 26, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on December 13, 1953, in
Seymour, Indiana, to the late Herschal and Mary Ann Lucas, Wilma's life was a testament to the love and grace of God. She passed away peacefully in Indianapolis, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Wilma was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Alan W. Allman, for 52 wonderful years. Their union was blessed with three children: Jason (Kim) Allman, Crystal Righthouse, and the late Scott Allman. Wilma's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, as she doted on her grandchildren, Andrew, Chris, Keenan (Avery), and Kerrigan (Uriah), and her great-grandchildren, Brinley, Kaislee, Kamden, and Raelynn, who will miss her dearly.
She was the cherished sister of Goldie Dykes (John), Bertha Miller, Mary Verling (Kenneth), and was predeceased by her brother the late Kenneth Lucas. Wilma's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured her relationships with them with the same care and devotion she gave to her garden.
A proud graduate of Seymour High School in 1971, Wilma dedicated over 30 years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Seymour Hospital. Her work on the 4th floor of the hospital caring for the elderly was not just a job, but a calling. She touched countless lives with her gentle hands and warm smile, embodying the love of Christ in every act of service.
Wilma's faith was the guiding light of her existence. As a devout Christian and a member of Christ Covenant Church in Seymour, she lived her beliefs through her actions and her unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her life was a living example of her favorite scripture, "Love is patient, love is kind" (1 Corinthians 13:4).
An avid lover of the outdoors, Wilma found peace and solace in her garden, tending to her flowers with the same love she showed to those around her. Her garden was a reflection of her inner beauty, blooming with life and color that brought joy to all who beheld it.
Wilma's legacy is one of unconditional love, kindness, and selflessness. Her memory will be a guiding star to her family, a reminder of her strength and the depth of her love. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life-a life well-lived, full of grace and compassion.
Funeral services for Wilma will be held at Voss Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street,
