Wilma C. George

Wilma C. George, 99, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar, Ohio. She was born January 4, 1926, in New England, West Virginia, to the late Joseph and Myrtle (Schultz) Moore.

Wilma was a devoted member of Howenstine Christian Church. During World War II, she served her country with honor as one of the “Rosie the Riveters,” working at Bisco for the United States Navy. A dedicated mother, she volunteered as a room mother for her children during their school years. Above all, Wilma was a loving mother and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. Her kindness, strength, and devotion will be remembered. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard George; brother Robert Moore; sisters Marilyn Padgitt, Edith England and Freda Moore.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Melvin (Patie) George, Ken (Peggy) George and Norman (Toni) George; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held for friends and family on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:00 -11:00am with her funeral service beginning at 11:00am at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, with Pastor Suzanah Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 1:00pm in Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, Ohio.
