Wilma was born on April 12, 1947, in Le Mars, Iowa, and shortly after birth, became the daughter of William and Luella (Peters) Phipps. She graduated from Boone High School in 1966. Following graduation, Wilma began work at the Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, where she had a long, devoted career as a Medical Records Clerk. She retired from Broadlawns in 2012.
Wilma was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone. Her hobbies included jigsaw and crossword puzzles and spending time with friends. In her last year and a half, she very much enjoyed being with the residents and visiting with the loving staff who cared for her at OES.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, William and Luella Phipps.
Survivors include her "adopted" family, Moreen (Betsy) Behling and Bill and Brenda Behling.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, with Pastor Jessten Heimer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.
