Wilma Lee Wright, 88, of Jonesboro, died on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Poinsett County on August 6, 1937, to Elbert “Monk” and Earlene Pickering, but lived most of her life in Jonesboro. Wilma was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was the oldest of 10 children, which she reminded them of that little fact often. Being with and traveling to see her grandchildren gave her great joy. Things she loved to do were reading and shopping. She never left her house without being immaculately dressed. She was always stylish and “well put together”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wright, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Wright of Kissimmee, Florida; Jamie Wright Richardson of Mountain View, Arkansas; brothers, Jim Pickering and Jerry Pickering; sisters, Kay Wimpy and Lynn Tubbs and husband Joe, all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Alex Richardson (Dan Vogts); Calvin Woodall; and her special lifelong friends and running buddies, who were call the “Fab Five”, they included Wilma, Anna Lou Slaven, Lillie Vick, Carolyn Jones and Pat Wright.

Visitation for Wilma will be from 1:00 until 2:00 on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home. The burial will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
