Winford "Ray" Morris went home to be with His Lord and Savior on January 30, 2024. Ray was born on August 30, 1947 to Dudley Howard and Pauline Harris Morris. They preceded him in death as well as his sister, Cozette Boyd and son, Timothy Morris. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Johns Morris, sons Danny Morris and Andrew Morris, and daughter Tracy Yant (Bobby), grandchildren Tabitha Mangrum (Mack), Amanda Holland (Justin), Miranda Caldwell and Aiden Morris, great-grandchildren Trinity, Levi and Elijah Holland, sisters, Louann Shrout and Avis Pendarvis, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Ruby Johns and brother-in-law Steve (Gwen) Johns. Ray was a member of Friendship FWB Church and a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam conflict. Following the military, he was a Deputy Sheriff for Cheatham County and Robertson County, and a Police Officer for Ashland City Police Department, where he retired. He also worked as a Revenue Officer for the State of Tennessee. Funeral service for Winford Ray Morris, age 76, will be Saturday, February 3, at 2pm in the chapel with Dwayne James officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship FWB Church Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2024, from 2pm to 6pm and on Saturday, February 3rd from 12noon until service hour of 2pm.
