Woody Joseph, 75, died June 4, 2025, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is Saturday, June 7, 2025, 11:00am - 12:00pm at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 12:00pm Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St, Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Woody was known for his 15 years of playing Santa Claus. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. Woody's life was a shining beacon of inspiration adaptability and passion, with a career that beautifully wove together multiple rewarding roles, including being a chef at Resthaven, and positions at esteemed institutions such as Clarksdale Country Club, Clarksdale Housing Authority, Flowers Manor, and the Flower Bouquet. Woody was a devoted loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Darlene Hodges Joseph of Clarksdale, MS; daughter Teresa Joseph of Clarksdale, MS; brother Joey Baghdady of Milford, CT; sisters Karen Joseph of Memphis, TN, Diane Joseph Matthews of Clarksdale, MS, Nadine Joseph Troy of Gilford, CT; granddaughter Olivia Rose Snyder.
Preceded in death by parents Woodrow & Amara Sawaya Joseph; sister Yvonne Joseph Chapman; Aunt Emily Baghdady.
