Xangel Valentine Leppert-Jones, known to everyone as Xani, passed away on November 18, 2023, in a tragic car accident at the bitter-sweet age of 17.
Xani was born in Goshen, New York, on February 8, 2006. He was the son of Christina Leppert-Chavez and Lucas Jones. At an early age, Xani was known for his heart of gold, always making people smile and developing friendships no matter where he went. Xani graduated a year early from high school and, at the time of his death, had just been accepted to NYU for Business.
As a recent Pine Bush High School graduate, Xani was loved by so many of his classmates and fellow students! He will be remembered for his outgoing, no-fear, adventurous, take no BS, funny/sarcastic personality. He will always be remembered for being a protector of his siblings, cousins, and friends and for the unconditional love that he showed to all of his family.
Xani had a smile that would light up a room. People gravitated to him and his handsome, dimpled self. He was easy to love and unapologetically him. He was a talented gamer, and lyrical artist and loved working with his friends to make music. He planned to be an entrepreneur in marketing and music. With his passion, we know he would have achieved so much in college and life.
He is survived by his mother and step father, Christina and Xavier Chavez, his father and step mother Lucas Jones and Talashia Reynolds, his brothers Xavier (Tre), Xayne, Laiden and Blue, his sister Olivia, his cousins Nate, Joseph, Avery, great cousin Cameron (Cam), Frankie, Noelle, Giovanni, Carmine, Arianna, Gianni, his grandmother and most favorite person on this earth- Barbara Leppert (his Mum Mum), his aunt Melissa (Tia Sha Sha) and uncles Tio Nate, Tio Eddie and Tio Mike, his second favorite person- his great uncle William Leppert (Uncle Billy), his Mema Rosanne Sloop, grandpa Xavier Chavez, aunt Sharise, Nichole and Alexis, grandmother Dawn Jones, and uncles Chris Jones and Allen Jones, Yolanda Marie Cardona (grandma Londie) and many more family and friends.
He is predeceased by his favorite grandfather, Charles Jones, with whom he loved watching Big Bang Theory, and his grandfather, William Ramos Maldonado.
Services for Xani will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Morris-Martinez Funeral Home in Middletown, New York.
Visitation will be held in two sessions. The first session will be from 4pm-6pm, and the second session will follow from 7pm-9pm.
The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, generosity, and support during this time.
We would especially like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of Xani's friends. As young adults, it has been incredible to see your strength. We are so proud of you all for coming together and being there for not only our family but for each other. You are all amazing. Continue pushing forward and do amazing things in memory of your good friend, Xani. We all love you.
